SANDHURST, UK - General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), was the chief guest at the passing-out parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) on Friday.

The COAS stated in his address that it was an honor to be at the ceremony and that his presence at the parade bore "testimony" to the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. He described the relationship between the two armed forces as "uniquely special" and expressed hope that the two countries relations would reach "historic heights" in the future.

He congratulated the graduating cadets, saying, "You are part of one of the world's finest militaries that has produced great military leaders." I am as proud of you as I am of the two Pakistani cadets graduating with you today."

"The journey ahead of you is both difficult and exciting." As you advance in your career, so will the demand for professionalism. Decision-making is also crucial. You must be willing to make decisions and accept full responsibility. "That will necessitate trust and competence," he added.

COAS Bajwa is the first Pakistani dignitary to be invited as a chief guest to the RMAS.
