NEW DELHI, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- India is all set for Independence Day celebrations.

India's Defense Ministry said Friday that it was organizing Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony on Saturday in the capital, maintaining the balance between sanctity and dignity of the national function while factoring in precautions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Independence Day is observed every year in India on Aug. 15 as a national holiday to mark the nation's independence from Britain on the day in 1947.
