VIDEO: Prof Pongoo: 'I can walk the walk'

A candidate who stood under the name Professor Pongoo won more first preference votes than the Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate in one of the Edinburgh City Council wards. Climate activist Mike Ferrigan, who visits schools dressed as a penguin, stood against Stuart Bridges in Pentland Hills. Mr Ferrigan said the Lib Dems were being punished for its coalition with the Conservatives in the UK government.
